London & Paris Here I Come...Again!

I'm going back for a second time to fabulous London & Paris with my family in a week! Last time I was so prepared.....this time not so much! I have been looking up some places I want to visit this time and I came across these beautifully illustrated maps of both cities. The London Map is done by Tilly of Running For Crayons and the Paris map is a circa 1940's map created by Lucien Boucher (looks like it could have been illustrated today and be current). They point out most of the major attractions, but I also like to go to unexpected places while I'm traveling. So friends, if you know of some cool places to visit in or around either city I would LOVE to know about them!

A Few Books on my Want List

They Draw & Cook////Nate Padavick & Salli Swindell

Art Saves/////Jenny Doh

Finish This Book/////Keri Smith

All very inspiring reads in my book! Ha :)  They Draw & Cook is inspired by this amazing site which I follow regularly. It showcases some amazingly talented illustrators and designers and their gorgeous recipes.  Art Saves looks very inspiring! It shares stories from various mixed media artists and how art empowers them and how it can inspire you. Keri Smith is one of my favorites. Her books are always humorous and a new adventure with every page. The interactivity of her books is what I love! Her latest Finish This Book looks to be just as creatively interactive as ever! I would love to fill the pages of this book with my own doodles. Check them out! Have a great day :)

Happy First Day of Fall!

Yes! It's finally here :) My favorite season hands down!  Just look at the beauty...ahh. This shot is from Asheville, North Carolina.  That would be a beautiful run through the woods taking in all that autumn scenery!

Harvest Craft Fair Show

My First Ever craft show this past weekend was a success and so much fun!  I wanted to stay there all day, but we had to pack up at 3!  It was fun setting the booth up with the vintage suitcases and boxes I've been collecting for it. Can't wait to do it again! I think I'm going to do another one the first weekend of October...so lookout for me :)

My dad wanted me to create a birthday card for my grandma, so I did and I like it so much I think I'm going to put it in my shop...what do you think?

Ilustration Friday: Mysterious

So it's just a little too early for some people to start thinking about Halloween...but the topic "Mysterious" just lends it self to a Halloween theme so well!   I'm already getting a little excited for the season.   I plan to make a card or possibly a print from this illustration.   Happy Friday everyone!!

Guide to the weekend Oak Cliff style

If you're looking for something to do this Labor Day weekend in the Dallas area, head on over to the Bishop Arts District in Oak Cliff this Saturday from 9-2pm for the Bishop Arts Saturday Market.  This is a free event full of great food, music, and of course goods for sale.
The ever-so clever Vintagemobile in all its retro green glory will be setting up shop at the market to sell vintage clothing and home goods.
After or in between your shopping try one of the fantastic restaurants in the area. Try Eno's, Oddfellows, Bolsa, or Tillman's Roadhouse to name a few. Hard to choose a favorite!!
I'm going on Saturday are you?
