Sweet Summer

I found this super sweet June desktop calendar on the Ruche Blog and couldn't help but share it with you! Such a refreshing backdrop to get your taste buds ready for summer...

Speaking of sweets... I made my first Strawberry Rhubarb pie this weekend and heavens was it delicious! We stopped by the Asheville City Market and bought some lovely smelling bright red strawberries, then a friend in our neighborhood let us cut some stalks of his rhubarb. So the ingredients were super fresh! I used this recipe from thekitchn.com only I did half brown and half white sugar so the pie wouldn't taste too sweet. It was super simple and turned out so GOOD!

 Voila!

Garage 34

Now that my husband and I have settled into Asheville, we've had time to work on our art and we've really been enjoying it. It's a slower pace than our previous 9-5, but still plenty of work! We are working on getting our prints and cards in local shops and our work is being very well received.  I've had my eye on a little downtown Asheville shop called Garage 34 since last September that sells local handmade goods and wares. Luckily one of the very sweet store owners, Holly, contacted me about selling in their store! So I paid them a visit last week and they are now carrying my prints and cards. So happy about that!

Here's a look at the cool indie shop located on 34 South Lexington:
